The purpose of this scholarship is to support student need in paying for their preferred off-campus intercultural travel program, regardless of the program length. Semester or 6-week summer program costs are included in the financial aid application to the university/federal aid, or the student may apply for summer loans/PELL awards when registered for 6SH or more in the summer term. Participants in 3-week summer programs may have access to Pell Grant funds, but summer loans may not be available.
- On-campus intercultural courses are not eligible for this scholarship funding.
-All Intercultural students are encouraged to consult with EMU Financial Aid staff to learn what types of aid, loans and scholarships are available for them, and plan ahead for travel-related costs.

• Have applied for an EMU-sponsored intercultural program
• Be Pell Grant eligible, or have comparable documented financial need*
• Have not completed the intercultural experience requirement
*Students may verify Pell eligibility with the EMU Financial Aid Office.
